Local ATT corp store price matched the $149.99

I just got done preordering my GSIII from my local corp store!

The best part you ask!? They matched Amazons price! So I got it for $149.99. Now I know normally they wont match online prices but there manager said they would...

I was there asking about the family plans and I started my service with no contract. I jokingly said "Oh I am gonna get it off of Amazon tonight when I get home. They have you guys beat by $50!" and the store manager was the one helping me and said he would match it....SO I no longer have to worry about Amazons ETF if I want out of my contract! Talk about awesome CS! I like ATT! Now I am glad I left Sprint last month...And this is why!

Has this happen to anyone else in the past with other preorders?

I think its just my lucky day!

Samsung GSIII here I come next week!

PS. Its being sent to the store and if it comes before the 21st I will have it early! I can even see the shipping status!

Are you saying the ATT store isn't going to charge you state sales tax based on the $699 non contract price too? And are they going to match the no restocking fee Amazon has if you decide you want to return it? Just curious.

For those of us that don't have corporate accounts, which I imagine is most of us, I doubt ATT can match the exact terms Amazon offers. But I could be wrong of course. I just like the fact that I'm saving over $100 by ordering through Amazon and don't have to be concerned about the restocking fee. And I also have no problem with the 6 mo ETF policy since I don't want to leave ATT.

Well a few weeks ago when I returned my HOX I never had to pay a restocking fee. Although I know there are threre. Maybe they had just been nice to me!

I dont like the 6 month ETF. Its not needed! But thats just IMO...Plus its nice if I have an issue with the phone I can just send it off to the corp store rather than mail it.

Now this is not something they normally do I think it was just my lucky day. You can ask the corp store to match it but they may tell you no. Good luck!

OK thanks.. it never hurts to try, though I have to say the people that work at the local ATT store are lame to put it mildly. They don't know about the products or network and seem very poorly trained. But I'll give it a try anyway. Thanks for the tip!

Well just got back from the corp ATT store and not only will they NOT price match Amazon or anyone else, he said the corp policy is that the store won't even offer promotional deals that ATT has running online. Not sure how you were able to get your store to price match, but our local store says it's corp policy to never price match anyone.

So it will be back to Amazon since I want to save the $$ regardless of the 6 mo ETF. Remember this is only charged IF you keep the device over 30 days and cancel your service contract with ATT which of course carries another penalty. I don't mind it at all since I have no plan of cancelling after having been an ATT customer for so long.

ATT Corp stores DO price match local stores I know that for a fact. They price matched the HOX when I wanted to try it out. I ended up returning it.

Also kjnangre saw the picture before I took it down. If you dont believe me then just move along.

That store might have done you a solid, But I've never heard of a carrier price matching an authorized retailer.
