Location information

I've found that when I pull my Tab S 10.5 out of my bag at work that it displays an error about not being able to determine location information. This is a concrete building with rebar in the walls. It seems to happen just the first time I pull it out of the bag, just after I get there.

Anyone else seen this?

I've got location services set to power saving.

Power saving means that it's getting its location by triangulating cell towers and known wifi signals. You're in a steel cage, so there's not much signal for it to use. IOW, what you're seeing is about normal.

If there's no steel overhead, and you have GPS on before you get into the building, you'll probably maintain lock on enough satellites to maintain a decent location accuracy (the DOP numbers in an app that shows them, like GPS Status & Toolbox, should be under about 3). Not that I know why you're concerned with a location with 50-100 feet accuracy when you know where you are within inches.

It seems like this behavior is new, which is why I was asking. I was wondering what it meant.
