Lock and unlock sounds not working now after restore

I know this is a minor issue, but I restored my phone last night, and for some reason the unlock and locking sounds won't work. There's just silence when I lock and unlock the phone. I have it turned on in the settings, just kind of baffled as to why it's not making those sounds. Any ideas?

Just to be sure -- the phone's not on Silent Mode, right (i.e., from pressing and holding Power and Vol Up together)?

What is the slider here set at?

I don't see system volume. Are you using a theme?
Are you using double tap power to open the camera option?
Is your camera shutter sound on? Try typing 'volume' in the settings search bar.
Good luck

You'll need to explore the Settings and submenus and find where Google moved it. I'm on a S9.

The problem is that different manufacturers will sometimes add in more granularity to the volume sliders. Pixels don't have a separate System Volume slider. There's Media, Call, Ring, and Alarm, and that's it.

I suppose one possibility is that the system sound file for the screen lock/unlock sound got corrupted, but unless you root the phone, I don't think you can go check.

Make sure by pressing the volume button up that the ringer is not silent the bell icon ?Screenshot_20200217-205213.jpeg

Maybe someone has an extra Pixel I can play with.
One would think system sound has a user adjustable setting somewhere
