lock out of my phone

[Android Central Question]

Need help to get back into my phone dont remember my password,but i did do a finger print which it will still not let me in why is it playing up i do know my phone number please help

If the fingerprint sensor has failed, and you have forgotten your backup password, all that's left - short of hypnotic recall - is to factory reset, which will of course wipe all personal data not backed up.
Knowing your phone number is not relevant to that.
I guess it may be worth cleaning the sensor with alcohol, but I don't know how much worth.
