Lock Screen Apps

I've read that the apps on the lock screen cannot be edited. As I use Handcent for texting, is there a way to get Handcent onto the lock screen?

Right now there is no way to change the items on the homescreen. I actually use handcent myself. They said that there is no plans to have it be editable either.

I used widget locker a while back on my DX. Wasnt very pretty to look at. Has it been updated?
