Lock Screen & Background issue?

So when you set a picture as your lock-screen and background when you turn on the phone it's the native res, but when you unlock the phone it zooms in on the image.

I had a GS4 before this and it did not do this. Is there any way to turn this off?

I guess my next question is if there is no way to turn it off does anyone know the res of the "desktop background" as i don't mind just using two different images just resized to fit both and look the same.
