Lock screen occasionally comes up greyed out

I had a Samsung Galaxy 22+ for 3 years and never experienced this issue.

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy 25+ and every once in a while I tap the blank screen to wake it up and log in and instead of coming up with the bright lock screen picture, it comes up with the lock screen picture dimly lit and I need to keep tapping it to get it to get bright so I can swipe it away and get to the log in screen.

Is there some sort of sleep timer I need to edit? What suggestions might you have to get past this annoyance or is my phone defective.

I have already spent considerable time stopping the annoying bottom of the lock screen pop ups. Who owns this phone anyway? Gee, I thought it was mine once I paid for it.
