Lock-screen pictures getting cropped

I have a Huawei P9 Lite. I managed to put a set of rotating photos as lock-screen using the "Magazine unlock" setting, but all of the pictures get cropped! The edges get cut out of just a bit, but I find it really annoying..
Is there a way to have the pictures completely shown? Or is there any app that can do it?

Are the pictures the same aspect ratio as the phone screen? If not then try to modify them so that they are.

There were some lock screen backgrounds already in the phone and they are 1080x1920, but I checked and even those get cropped!

P9 lite is 16x9.

On my Honor 8, some of my photos get cropped as well. Perhaps editing the photos would help? Not sure if there is an aspect ratio setting, but there could be!

You can play around with resizing the picture until you figure out the exact aspect ratio used in the wallpaper

I don't see anything under Magazine Unlock settings to turn it off. Im not quite sure.

You can at least unsubscribe your current likings.
