Lock screen pops up after locking phone.

Lately whenever I press the power button to lock my phone the screen will go black and lock, but after a second the screen will come back on.

I've tried restarting my phone but this continues happening and it's a bit annoying having to constantly lock it twice. :-\

Also my phone overheats a lot while using it, especially when it's warm outside. Overheating causes it to run slow, sometimes to the point of not being able to use it without major frustration. Maybe this has something to do with the locking issue? Not sure.

EDIT: Now it's started randomly crashing and turning itself off. I then have to press and hold the power button to turn it back on because it doesn't reboot itself.

If that doesn't help, try booting into Safe Mode, to see if the problem is due to a 3rd party app you installed: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10248

Thanks. I just cleaned the cache. It said it worked but then it said "error" when I selected "reboot", but it did eventually reboot after a minute or so.

We'll see how this goes.

Did you also try Safe Mode?
