How do you increase the timeout on the lock screen? My girlfriend got a new S6 and I also have one and we are using a pin number but screen goes dark very fast, before we can put the pin number in.

Thanks

Is it taking you longer than 15 seconds to enter your pin? By factory, 15 seconds is the shortest amount of time you can even set it too.

No, it seems to go dark after maybe 5 seconds. Both of ours are that way. Is there a way to increase it past the 15 seconds? We both have looked and can't find where to change it.

Thanks

On AT&T (running 5.0.2), there isn't even a setting for adjusting lock screen duration. The duration default is ~10 seconds in regular mode, and 3 seconds in power saving mode.

Thanks, my girlfriends was not in power saving mode and it was still about 3 seconds. We are both on AT&T. I took mine off power savings mode. I switched hers to power saving mode, cleared the cache and switched it back.

Any other suggestions?

Unless there's a software problem with your girlfriend's phone, there's really no other option right now than to use a different unlock method (or shorter PINs) -- and hope that a future update will provide the intended feature.

Edited to add: the only other thing I can think of in the meantime is to hold a finger or thumb on the screen away from the keyboard while doing PIN input. That'll keep the screen awake.

If both your phones are new, an hard reset should not bother you too much... always worth to try it!

Here's what I tried. When the phone turned on, the lock screen lasted about 6-7 secs, like everyone else. After it went dark, I pressed the Home key to bring it back; it lasted about 5 seconds, then went black. But when I pressed the home key again, it stayed on indefinitely until I took some further action. It's a pain in the ****, but it seems to solve the quick disappearance problem
Edit: I forgot to add: the "smart stay" feature under "display" has to be checked, and you have to be looking at the phone.
