Lock volume

Is there a way to lock the volume. I tend to accidentally turn the volume down when I hold the phone and am then unable to hear the ring. Is there a way to lock the volume in the currently set position so the volume button has no effect?

I was about to say no, not possible, but then found this below. Might work,not sure.

Could not get it to work, so I cut the button out of the jelly case and it now requires deliberate pressure to operate, so all is well. Thanks
