Locked out of my HTC One and can't get back into it!!

I know this is an older post, but thought I'd say that I just had this happen to me after forgetting the lock pattern for my HTC Desire. I had to turn off 2 step verification on a pc before it would accept my Google credentials. Hope it helps someone :) Sure had me screwed!

it doesnt work if you dont know the password, i forgot mine as well and i got programs to do the job for me but since is locked you need to unlock it to give permission to transfer data from your phone to your computer

hi, did you ever got to unlock your phone without factory reset, i have the same problem on my m7and dont know what to do

I buy android phones all the time on ebay and most of them have a passcode and if you turn the phone off and hold in the volume up button and the power botton at the same time and on some phones the home bottom as well the phone will give you a few options on a boot screen and one of the options is a complete factory wipe and it makes the phone like it just came out of the box it does take the passcode off it is a full wipe of everything

it's not lying ): it's happening to my boyfriend's phone right now too, he has a HTC One m7. He even tried to login with my account and his other google accounts, and it still doesn't work. If it really need internet to log back in, how do you set up wifi internet when you are still on that system login screen

It will only unlock with the account used to setup the device initially, so other accounts are useless. The device does need internet, even though your account is stored in there a half dozen places it still needs to verify online. You won't be able to create a new Wi-Fi connection holding the power button should allow you to turn off airplane mode. If you disabled mobile data but did not use airplane mode I believe enabling and disabling airplane mode will restore it, but nothing will allow you to turn on Wi-Fi without access if it wasn't turned on prior to being locked out. Sort of gaining internet access a factory reset is the only way to regain access. Holding down on the -vol button while powering on and using the bootloader to factory reset the device is your last option.
