Lollipop 5.0 is a disgrace

My first post here, and this is the appropriate place as i think lollipop is a disgrace.

Having ditched the iphone because of ios7 in favor of galaxy s5 with kitkat os i did have the perfect phone for 5months, great battery life, brilliant browsing experience, everything about the phone / kitkat os was perfect.

Now that i have updated to lollipop i feel like i have my awful iphone back, i now have a battery that drains so quick, apps that crash, browser that loads when it wants even on wifi, wifi that connects when it wants, and not to mention the new awful color scheme. i just hate lollipop. i know people will say that its just bugs with any new os, but i am paying good money for a phone that i now hate, a phone that was perfect just two days ago.

I am taking it to a shop in town tomorrow to get it rolled back to kitkat, at the cost of 20quid, money well spent if you ask me...

Nexus 5 user, for the first 2 months it was A LOT OF PROBLEMS...especially with lag and crashing of apps. But over the last 2 weeks its become very stable...im sure S5 will get its fixes soon.

I'm wondering why so many people jump the ship and abandoning a stable and fast OS like Kitkat AS SOON as a new version is released?? Instead of waiting out the mandatory "beta months/half year" trail n error peroid for all nasty bugs and incompatible issues to get sorted. Beats me anyway!! "If it works great, don't try to fix it" . . . .

There will of course be bugs in all new version of software, especially for major updates. But there is a difference between bugs, and glaring deficiencies. It shouldn't be too much to ask billion-dollar companies with some of the industry's top minds, to put out a product that works appropriately. There's a fine line between bugs you can overlook and consumers should live with, and bugs that are very obvious and detrimental to the consumer. Let's not forget that we pay for these phones, and therefore their operating systems, and if they release an update then it's not up to the customer to wait because it's not good enough.

I have been a fan of Android for a long time, previous updates have been fine by me. But I just found this latest one absolutely shocking! There's a certain amount you can forgive in terms of "this bug must have slipped through the net", Lollipop surpasses that!

Hi Golfdriver,

I currently have a pattern lock on my device and there is no Smart Lock option. On my Gear Fit manager I can't tick the "Auto lock" feature - when I try and tick it it asks me to enter my pattern, confirm my pattern, enter a backup passcode, and then when it's done it goes back to the menu with Auto Lock still unticked.

Under Security I have no Smart Lock option at all?
