Lollipop killed stock "email" app!

You can set separate audio file notifications for both the accounts, gmail and business maill separately through the settings section.

It seems like every time Google makes something inconvenient all the apologists come out and act like "well all you gotta do is 5 extra steps now to accomplish the same thing, whats the problem with that?" Uh, the problem is having to do 5 extra steps. Before this update I could check my exchange email by touching a single icon. Thats it, presto, magical, DONE. Now I have to click Gmail, side swipe the screen, click accounts drop down, then choose the account I want. Then I have to do it all over again just to get back to gmail. HOW IS THIS A GOOD IDEA TO YOU PEOPLE. It's a damn mess. Would you defend Google if they decided to embed the chrome browser in the system menus, and the only way to open a webpage now is to click app drawer/settings/internet/browsers/chrome.... every single time?

This new email system is about as annoying as the new priority/silent mode garbage. Whereby Priority mode's only purpose now is to act as a silent mode, even though the very purpose is the exact opposite of that. It's so annoying having to circumvent Google's design decisions with 3rd party software and tricks to get it to do what people obviously want.

UK user here, Lollipop on Note 4. I still have stock Android email app and Gmail. Nothing has been "migrated". I never look at Gmail app, all my emails and email accounts are intact in stock Android email app. Everyone I know here in the UK is on Lollipop and they all use the old Android email app. US problem only?

I still see the stock Lollipop Email application, but it's been drastically changed on Lillipop from the KitKat version. I no longer have filters and selecting email messages now sucks. When I go from one email to another, I have to click any button twice - to delete, click twice, to move forward/backward in my email list, click twice. It's annoying to say the least. More annoying, however, is using the Gmail application for my POP mail!

If I could rollback my Galaxy S4 (Sprint) from Lollipop to KitKat, I would do so in a minute!

I dont what has happened but now I see the stock email app is no longer capable of adding up how many unread emails are in my inbox.

My migration away from Android continues. I got tired of all the notifications to upgrade to Lollipoop. So, I rooted my phone and installed a bloat freezer to freeze update reminders, Gmail, and many other Google apps.

Looking for an iphone next year with fast charging and--ideally--OIS in the camera.

2 questions:

1. Why would a business allow employees to use the Gmail app to then allow Google to read their business email?

2. A number of people tout Nine. I tried a year ago. If I remember correctly, it could not handle additional non-Exchange accounts. Is Nine still limited in that fashion?

A number of people like Aquamail > Mailwise and Mailwise tries to force its views on how an inbox should look on the user.

1a. It's really handy.
1b. It's free.
1c. Because someone, somewhere is gonna be reading it anyway.

2. Nine still does not handle regular IMAP or POP3 accounts, no.

3. AquaMail is excellent with options out the wazoo. Optional conversation view with several sub-options is coming very soon. I've been running the betas and it's very cool.

One VERY nice thing about Nine is support for application-level security. My corporate admins have very strict password security, which disable Smart lock. By using application level security, I have an additional password for my email (which is fine), but I now have more control over device security. Everyone is happy...
