Lollipop logo on home screen?

Hi all. I was just in Settings>About phone. I scrolled down to where it says "Android version 5.0", and pressed on it quickly a number of times. The phone suddenly went back to the home screen and there was a coloured circle in the centre of it. I pressed this and a picture of a lollipop saying "lollipop" on it appeared. Each time I pressed the lollipop it changed colour. Just wondering how many of you are aware of this. And what is the point of it (if any!)
