Lollipop rollout starting Wed (Nov 12)

Still isn't confirmation as all the link says is that it is likely to rollout on the 12th but we can hope.

You can try the Google Services Framework trick to trigger the OTA if you can't wait. Just force stop GSF and clear its data, then go to the system update screen under about device/tablet in settings and check for the update. You may have to do it a few times.

Yeah, whatever. I did it with 4.3 on my N10 and no Google-dependent app freaked out. Either I was lucky or I'm not sufficiently Google-dependent. BTW, my N10 is one of those lucky one-percenters who hit the first day lottery -- I arrived home and found the system update notification waiting. The Nexus 7 2013 in the house had no such luck.

I also never had any issues with trying the google framework update workaround on my nexus 7 and I usually hit pay dirt getting the upgrade after doing it 4 or 5 times and receiving whatever update was available at that point. Never experienced a problem with any Google dependent app either.

Although, this time, I haven't been successful in getting 5.0 by doing that workaround. Tried it 8 times force stopping and erasing the data, but no update. Finally gave up and will now wait for the OTA update the old fashioned way through patience. Just can't be bothered doing an image install and then having to restore everything. I think I'll just wait a few days or so for the OTA update.

Anyone else get the OTA? I am still waiting patiently for someone to report on bugs and such.

Hearing about additional bugs in the Wi-Fi version. I have to wonder if mobile OSs are getting too complicated to debug before first release.

Sounds like the 1% release had enough problems that they will start the clock over after fixing the current problems.

The last major releases of Android and even Apple desktop and mobile OSs have been a real mess. We seem to be in the "Open Beta Age". We have the unpleasant "privilege" of finishing up the beta testing for new OSs.

If we are seeing this number of problems with pure android Nexus devices, it should be even worst when the OEMs and carriers finish hacking up 5.0.

Sure kills my confidence in new releases. Wonder how long we need to wait to get the major bugs fixed - 4 weeks, 8 weeks?

Google gets a big BOO HISS on this release!

Hearing word of 5.0.1 (LRX22C) being pushed to AOSP.

Hopefully they fixed the big problems and it will hit OTA soon.
