For the past couple of weeks, I've had the notification appearing on my N5 that the Lollipop 5.0 update was available for download. I have been ignoring the notification after reading all the horror stories about 5.0 on the N5 and N7.
Today I noticed the notification has disappeared. Did Google do the same thing with the N5 they did with the N7 (2013) WiFi and pull 5.0 until 5.0.1 was ready OR am I no longer going to be bugged to upgrade to 5.0? I hope the latter is the case.
I upgraded to 5.0.1 on my N7 and frankly, I don't care for it. I don't like the UI, I don't like all the "white" and I despise the lockscreen notifications. Dashclock widgets and extensions no longer work and instead of a muted, transparent notification background, every notification has it's own distinctive look and feel. It looks like a hodge-podge of crap thrown on the screen. I don't like swiping up to unlock my screen. I've grown use to the way KitKat worked and it worked FLAWLESSLY.
To me, Lollipop is reminiscent of Microsoft Windows Me, Vista and 8.
I was really looking forward to getting an N6, but after playing with Lollipop on my N7, I'm sticking with the N5 for now and will either get a Note 4 or maybe the LG G3.
Sorry Google, but for me, 5.0 is a looser. Tomorrow, I'm flashing my N7 back to 4.4.4.
