Lollipop update?

Since the delay on the Note 4 is rumored to be related to the VR gear code. And since currently the N4 is the only phone that supports VR, you can't go by when other Samsung phones get Lollipop. i.e. the Note 3 or the S4 may get it before the Note 4 does. I hope that is not the case, but it is possible. What I hear, we may be looking at the End of the month as a possible time frame for the Note 4.

The next Note will come out With LP before it comes to the Note 4. 😢 I mean the phone is already four months old.

According to AC News, 5.0.1 Samsung is rolling out right now in Poland. There have already been comments to that article that people are getting it now. So I would say it will hit the U.S. within a few weeks, depending on the carriers. And we all know how that goes.

Also rolling out for our Russian neighbours.

I honestly hope they are not releasing firmware based on 5.0.1 unless Samsung is putting a lot of work into slipstreaming the fixes for the (among others) memory leaks and TRIM issues that came in 5.0.2 and 5.0.3.

I have no desire to update to Lollipop. It caused problems on my Nexus 7 and I didn't care much for the changes.

I'm guessing if Verizon is leading the charge with the note 4 as well the end of February we will see lollipop

5.0.3??

I hold fast to my initial thought that the big US carriers won't release until near the end of 1Q at the earliest.

Oops, my bad. Jumped the version numbers there.

5.0.0 had some serious issues, 5.0.1 helped but left a bunch of memory issues, and 5.0.2 helped even more. My pea brain was counting from 1, not 0, on the Lollipop versions I had loaded to my Nexus 7 2012.

I cannot brain today, I haz the dumb. ;)

Thank God! I thought I had missed a whole update. LOL

I have 5.0.2 on my 2013 Nexus 7 (wifi only) and haven't experienced any problems. It's faster and has longer battery life.

Since the S5 for Verizon got the lollipop update how long for the Note 4?

You have to wait another year or so. Samsung is busy working on the fixes for their new VR and the Note 4. Once they have completed it the new OS will be ported and re-worked. I think by then candybar will be out!
