Since the update ( I had to do a factory reset) I no longer can find where to select the different sounds for text, mail etc...The sounds that I was able to set do not have the same options (sounds) as before.....HJ

Software issue.

Could you elaborate on that? Are you aware of an issue with the update?

To the OP, what happens when you go to Settings>Sound? Are there no options to set a different ringtone or notification tone? How about when you open a particular app (like the Email app), and tap Menu to open its specific settings--are there no options there to select a specific notification tone?

When I go to settings and sounds the only options there are the incoming ring and alarm. The options there aren'e even close to what was there before...I looked around in aps to see if I could get my old text sound back etc and no deal..Another thing...I cant seem to find the setting that lets you op tou of adding icons to your home page when you install them...

I may not be able to help with the notification tone issue--maybe when my wife's Verizon M8 gets Lollipop, I'll be able to see if the menu has changed significantly.

Regarding the automatic shortcut generation--open Google Play Store, swipe in from the left, tap Settings, and uncheck "Add Icon to Home Screen."

Thank you on the icon thing...One more thing...It seems that my keyboard has started to censor my swearwords out of my texts......I use swift key and cant seem to find any settings there to change..HJ

If you raise or lower the volume using the button on the side of the phone the ringer level indicator comes up on the phone with the settings icon on the right. Tap the settings icon before it goes away and I think the options you want will be there.

Hope this helps.
