Long press home screen locks phone

[Android Central Question]

I have an LG G8 THINQ that is not allowing me to add widgets. I can edit individual apps (remove, delete, relocate) but I can not add home screens, calendars, or any other widgets. My phone locks itself after long pressing home screen. Any fix for this issue?

Just follow these steps to modify your home screen button,
Tap the Home Button > touch and hold the Recent Apps Button > Settings > Display > Home touch buttons.
Select the modification you want to change.

Welcome to Android Central! What about pinch to zoom gestures -- does that bring up any options to place widgets?
