Long press on app icon

Hi all wonder if anyone can help with a problem, I had my screen replaced by Samsung two weeks ago due to screen burn in, all went well and got a new screen and battery in the process but have now encountered the following problem, before I could long press on an app if I had the little red dot and a number 1 for a new message etc and it would give me the option to go straight to that message etc but now all I get is the select items/remove from home/uninstall options, I'm sure I never done anything before to activate this so would anyone know why I can't do this anymore.

Would you need to enable it again in notification menu maybe?

Are you using the stock Samsung launcher, or a 3rd party one like Nova?

Sounds like somewhere along the way you were upgrade to Oreo (Android 8). What you are describing is the default behavior.

Hmm, strange. It should work: https://gadgetguideonline.com/s8/ho...-in-android-oreo-update-for-galaxy-s8-and-s8/. Is the system up to date? If all else fails, you could always install a 3rd party launcher like Nova, which has that functionality.
