Long Term Phone.....ya think?

If could be interesting. Personally, I need to stick with one device for at least the next year because its getting embarrassing for me. I believe I'm on phone 31 in the last 6 years. People close to me are starting to think I have a problem and it is becoming increasingly difficult to defend myself.

Im so glad there are others out there with this problem. My husband thinks I have spilt personalities simply because I like to switch phones so often. We actually have huge fights over it. Some women buy tons of shoes, some buy tons of clothes, and my vice happens to be phones. I trade one for another and it never costs him a dime. I don't see the big deal.

You must be my polar opposite because this is my first new phone in the last 6 years.

Will I keep this one as long as I did my last one? Dunno!

Definitely at least 2 years though (Required by contract I believe.) From what I'd heard the cellphone improvements are starting to reach diminishing returns anyway.

And what phone did you come from?

The venerable Samsung SGH-T629. With a 1.3 Megapixel camera and a whopping 21* MB of storage space! (Good thing I had a 1 GB SD Card.)

*probably closer to 17 MB

..I probably accidentally skipped a free upgrade or two (No more of those from T-Mobile now.)

I envious. Purchasing a smartphone for you was a real event then. What an upgrade.

I haven't had a long term phone in ages. My iPhone 3gs lasted maybe 10 months. After that I buy every new high end phone that cones out. Hoping the note 3 and galaxy gear stick around for a while.

I buy mine outright but if I could snatch an upgrade I would. Some relatives don't need or will use the latest and greatest :).

Ha ha ha I always snatch the upgrades from my hubby and kids.. but hay we pay the bill so I figure I need the upgrade more .. my hubby is always nice and gives me his if I need it.. but I wanted to wait this time for the cool flexible screens that showed LAST YEAR at the show but here we are and none still out.. so I told hubby I really want to keep this one for the full 2 years .. He laughed.. I don't think he thinks I will make it.. but unless they roll out the flexible screens I really cannot imagine what they could do to make the note better. . On the other hand .. If they came out with a watch that was a stand alone phone I would have to jump on that..

I agree I am that way.. bought my note 3 for $250 sold my note 2 for $255 (after all fees and shipping were deducted) so why shouldn't I get a new one. . Only problem is is I have had to change my phone number a few times ha ha ha no one knows how to reach me ;)

I can understand replacing phones every 6 months. That's about how long the novelty will take to wear off. After that my phone is just a tool. I am on an HTC Titan. Got it a month after launch and am on the 3rd one. Had some issues with it but nothing too major. I am sure I can use the Note 3 for 2 years with no issues. How I see it, the Note3 is likely the last of this generation of mobile tech. I see a large advance in the next year with the new display tech. So while they are working out all the kinks in that tech, I can enjoy my top of the line current tech. Then when they have gotten a bit better I can go to the new tech with less headaches.

I thought for sure I could be monogonous with my Note 3. However, old habits die hard. I still love her though.
