Hi all. I am forgetful. Not many people call me, my phone isnt a big part of my life, and so i often forget to charge it for days at a time.
Although few people call me, the people that do are important, namely my elderly grandmother. I need people to be able to reliably get in touch with me, and so i need a phone that isn't going to die if i forget to feed it for a brief moment.
I'm not sure what phones are truly capable of, but a battery life of 3-4 days would be nice. Maybe a week as long as i'm dreaming.
I've seen quite a bit about Power Cases. They're sort of like a phone case which has a spare battery built in, and plugs into the micro usb slot on the phone, providing an extra reserve of power that's naturally drawn from. These tend to add a fair bit of weight and bulk to the device, but that's a sacrifice i'm happy to make.
Unfortunately, cases like these have quite limited support. They seem to be only made for specific phones and won't fit anything else. I have no idea exactly which devices on the market have them right now.
So that's my first requirement, a phone which has power cases manufactured for it.
Secondly, I have my own sim and a provider i'm quite happy with, i don't want to change, so i'm not looking for any contracts, i just want to purchase a sim-free device outright.
Thirdly, price is an issue. I don't have a specific set budget, but the cheaper the better, to a large extent.
Fourthly, it does need to be a smartphone. I will occasionally use it for light web browsing
Ok thats what i need, here's what i don't.
I have no need for an especially powerful CPU, or a lot of ram, or storage space, or a fancy camera. I can skimp out on all of those fronts and i'm happy to have something that's generally pretty underpowered.
With all of that said, i'm looking for advice on things which might fit my needs, replies appreciated
