Hi there people.

I own a rooted NOTE 2 which I got when the note was just released.
It is SCH-I605 and it has Android 4.1.1 with a Jelly Ben's build 7 by:@beanstown106
Although I'm enjoying the rootign privileges, the phone runs slow and its memory is frozen a lot.
I'm currently looking for a better ROM and simple instructions to install it.
I want the camera to work, of course, and I think it's time to get kit kat, but I"m not sure if such rom is available.
Using google/youtube gives me SO MANY different options and makes me more confused.
If there is someone out there who is willing to help, and also answer some newbie's questions -I will be forever thankful.

Thanks

Welcome to Android Central :)
Slim just released their stable build of Kit Kat and it is by far the best ROM I have used.

Thanks for replying UJ95x.
Where can I find it? Is it easy to install? will my info be kept or I need to back it up?
How long does it take to install? Will my free wifi (on unlimited verizon hahaha) still work?
A lot of questions... I know... sorry :(

You can get it from the site I linked. Didn't take more than a few minutes to install. Assuming you have TWRP or CWM, just download the Slim file and compatible gapps. Place them in your SD card and hit install from within recovery mode.
You won't have the native hotspot app anymore, but there are apps for free tethering

I don't have TWRP or CWM... is that something I need to install?
I know these are basic questions, and I"m sorry if I bother, but I can't figure who to ask :(

Yeah you need to flash those with Odin like you did with the root file. TWRP has a website for theirs, not sure about CWM.

Yes.
Install TWRP.
Boot into recovery mode.
Hit install and look for the Slim ROM file.
Hit add more zips and find the Slim gapps.
Then swipe to confirm

Make sure to do a backup first once you're in recovery.

how do I do it?
btw guys - is there a tutorial - maybe a video I can follow to prevent mistakes?

Once you have TWRP installed, just boot into it. Hit backup and select everything. Store it on your phone and back it up to your PC in case anything happens to the phone.

hi there again. I'm trying to transfer the files to my note but the computer wont recognize it all I see it portable media player. installed smasung drivers but nothing

was able to transfer the file but when I reboot to install it tries to mount the SD cards and counts 20 sec and than there is an error message saying it could not install......

Any update on any good recent KitKat roms? I tried the AOKP and it isn't very stable for the note 2. I am looking at the Slim Rom or the avatar rom. Has anyone tried the recent KitKat roms on the Note 2 and if so, how are they?

Thanks!
