I bought a great android phone about a year ago. Really like this Oukitel WP15, a charge lasts a week, it suits me, I don't game, it is probably more phone than I need. It came with android 11, I've been expecting an android update since it was released in 2021. I asked Oukitel the question, they responded that there are no plans to update this phone. Is there a way to update android without their help?

Only by using a custom ROM, if there are any available for that device. XDA Forums is a good place to look.
Read about these things carefully beforehand, since you have to know how to proceed correctly.

My 1+7 pro McLaren edition is on Android 11 and runs great, looks like it doesn't get anymore updates so I leave it the way it is as it works flawless and recommend u do the same otherwise geta new device that has better software support.

Sent from my SM-S918U1 using AC Forums mobile app

Thanks for the advice, this phone alsoworks flawlessly with android 11, I just thought that all manufacturers update there phones.

Budget phone manufacturers typically don't update their device, because that takes additional time and resources (i.e., engineers who can take the base code that Google puts out and modify it to work correctly on their hardware, then test it to make sure it works correctly). One of the main ways these companies cut costs is that they don't have these kinds of resources.
