new to this rooting community, I am running Myn and was wondering about the kernels and updates, do i just put them on the SD and run the updates in recovery?

Yeah. Wipe cache and dalvik prior to flashing the kernel zip, then reboot. There are alomost as many Kernel options out there as there are ROMs. It's and endless combination of options! Netarchy kernels seem to have good reviews and backing from a lot of the community when it comes to battery life and performance. I have always had terrible battery life on my EVO until I flashed Netatchy's 4.2.1 Kerenel. I think this kernel in conjunction with the new radios have helped me out a lot.
