I'm coming from the Galaxy S7 which I've had since it's release. I didn't dislike it, i just always want something new. So far i love my V20 (it came Thursday), but I'm having a really hard time with the camera.

On my Galaxy I used the setting that would record a short clip before each photo. So if something was moving in the photo I could sort of rewind until i got a frame I liked. Rarely were subjects blurry. I never changed settings around, always used HDR on.

My V20 has so far proven not to be so easy. The shutter is much slower (i even took pictures with both at the same time). I tried the manual adjustments but a faster shutter speed only results in darker pictures while the increased ISO results in a noisy picture. I did find that holding the shutter button down reproduces a similar effect as the short clip on the S7, but you can't go back in time before the picture started as with the S7. I have gotten some great pictures with the V20, it's just not the point and shoot i had with the Galaxy.

Does anyone have any tips to try? I've changed all the settings I could think of. So far I've had most luck with leaving the HDR on. I want to keep this phone but my 2 year old doesn't exactly hold still for pictures. Any advice is appreciated.

First thing I thought of was using the multi shot option which I think you said you're doing. Hold button down for rapid successive photos. You go back and pick the best ones. Does the LG have additional camera options to download like Samsung does, such as "sport mode" which captures photos of action subjects (like most 2 yr Olds lol). Multi shots are great because you capture many frames and can choose the best.

Screenshot below shows my Samsung camera mode options. I'm sure LG had multiple options and downloadable extras

The LG has many less modes to choose from compared to the S7. I don't see anywhere to download more like the Galaxy had.
