Looking for Feedback from Previous Pixel 3 XL Owners

I never mentioned flagships and was referencing the 2XL which was from the 2017 timeframe. The Samsung S8 had 4GB of ram except the Asia model with 6GB. The S9 came 4GB and the S9+ came with 6GB. My question remains the same, what changed that all of a sudden 4GB became underwhelming?

I had no issues with app reloading with the 2XL or 3XL beyond practical reason.

If 4GB is inadequate for you then perhaps an upgrade may be in order.
The original pixel was fast as lightning on 4gb and didn't have ram issues. As time goes on and new features are added, what used to be great is no longer enough.

To me the subtle upgrades are worth. I Wasn't a fan of the 3XL so I passed it along to my coworker and stuck with the 2XL. The upgraded processor, ram and screen are worth it itself. Once you use 90hz for a long period of time it's definitely noticable and can be hard to go back to a 60hz screen. Motion sense and Face Unlock all work great for me and it's worth having the top bezel vs the ugly notch. But it's going to be all up to you. From your various posts it already sounds like you've already made up your mind but think you're suffering from that new device itch so you're still reaching for some kind of justification to buy one. Lol

While what you're saying is basically true there weren't tremendous changes in features from the time the 2XL was released till the 3XL was released. I'm not suggesting RAM doesn't make a difference, it just doesn't make as big a difference as it's being given credit for. I have phones with 4, 8 and 12GB of RAM. I don't have issues with any of them managing apps or lagging. Yes, you can certainly keep more apps open in the background without reloading or potentially conflicting but I don't find any issues that concern me on a day to day basis.

You're infected and affected and there's no cure in sight except to hand over all your disposable cash and rip up your credit cards.

The only cure is to camp out in the parking lot of a Best Buy and then purchase all the devices...

I didn't go for a 3xl. I just hated that notch. I kept my 2xl and I still have it and use it as a spare. Face unlock can be temperamental at times but I like motion sense and 90 Hz screen. But the most valuable thing for me is the enhanced Google assistant. Even though it isn't on by default in the UK, I got it working by changing my Google assistant language to US English. I use continued conversation on my home display and hub devices. And it like it in my phone.

Sometimes Bluetooth headphones can be iffy with it. I have Bose QC35ii.

I don't regret buying the 4xl. I got the 128GB model. I find it fast and fluid. But in some ways I still prefer my 2xl.

I would've bought the Pixel 4XL if Google had offered it for $499 like they did when I purchased my Pixel 3XL in September ...

Every new version of Android the demands get higher. Also with the price Google is charging they have to at least match the competitors.

Every new version of doesnt increase the RAM requirements significantly, especially from one year to the next.
Since it's a free market, Google doesnt have to match anyone. No one forces anyone to buy any product. I use a very simple rule. I buy what makes sense to me. If Google makes bad decisions the market will reflect and correct.

In any event my apologies to the OP as the RAM debate does not provide the feedback the OP was looking for.

Former 2xl, 3xl, 3 owner with a 4xl. I still have the 3, gave the 3xl to a friend when I got the 4xl. The 4xl is definitely an upgrade over the 3xl. The 4xl is a great a great value (on sale). I really like the Soli sensor, 90 Hz, build quality, great face unlock (works work all my apps for banking and passwords), zoom camera is great, the base lens is already wide angle 28mm (so ultrawide is useless), battery life is the same as 3xl - it always lasts the day for me.

An unltra wide is not useless to someone who wants an ultra wide.
