Friend of mine really wants a droid and is eligible for a upgrade, amazon had a sweet upgrade that was $50 or something like that but thats gone, is there anything similar out there from a legit store?

They want to stay on their existing plan but just renew another 2 YRS and get a new phone and add the data plan for that phone.

$199 @ verizon is kinda silly at this point for this awesome phone.

I got mine through Wirefly for $50 in March. My cousin and his girlfriend just got their's through them and they told me it was $10 each. The rub is you are locked into that phone and plan for 6 months. If you change either (upgrades to the plan are ok, but no downgrades) you have to pay the full retail price.

I personally felt it was good deal. Those here who grab every new phone wouldn't.

And as a tip of the hat to them, when they messed up my next-business-day shipping by sending it 2-day, they refunded me the difference in shipping cost the the same day. That impressed me.

I renewed/upgraded to the Droid a few months back for $59.98 shipped through sears.com. I just checked, and the same deal is still eligible: Welcome to our Wireless World.

I had to complete my order over the phone since I didn't see my plan on the web site. When dealing with the overseas rep (i.e., India) on the phone, I became nervous and worried that it was some sort of scam.

Fortunately, it wasn't. :)

Just checked Wifefly and it's $19.99!! Wish I had known about them, but $59.98 shipped isn't too shabby compared to VZW's price.

Their storefront looks the same as sears.com.

Oh, the stipulation outlined by paul sounds familiar with my "sears.com" transaction.

thanks for the tips, those look way better, verizon must have a standard reseller page or something all of them are using

I believe Best Buy is also running a promotion for the Droid for 19.99 for new and existing (renew) accounts. Also they have an awesome warranty that is ten fold better than Verizon.

Amazon was showing 19.99 as well for a 2 year contract Droid as of last night.

Dell had $1 droid w/2 yr contract yesterday. Had it in my cart to order today and today it is back to $19 :(
