Hi guys and gals, I am looking to purchase a new LG G4 from ebay and would just like to ask for any opinions on whether the seller seems genuine ( see link below)? The seller and phone seems genuine from what I can see, but I really don't want the hassle of getting a fake and starting a dispute with Paypal. Thanks

Android Police posted an Ebay listing for a new, unlocked G4 for $289 (US). I’ve deleted your link until you are able to meet the minimum posting requirements to post links. In the meantime, I would suggest reviewing the seller rating and reviews. As always, stick to reputable sellers when making a big purchase like this.

Thanks for the link but as I am from the UK, the phone on your link would incur around $80 in extra charges and the phone may not work in the UK.

As I can't post a link yet, is there a full proof way to prove if a phone is genuine or not? Can IMEI numbers be faked?

Confirm that it comes with an LG warranty - if that is important to you.

Hi All, well I finally purchased the phone and went through Amazon to ensure that I get a proper warranty. The phone has the S/N 601. Should this be new enough to avoid the dreaded bootloop issue?

When you get the phone, check for firmware updates and install if there are any, then factory reset the phone. It's probably best to do this before you get all your stuff set up and then encounter problems and then still have to reset. Just playing it safe.

Thanks. the first thing I did was upgrade to Marshmallow and then factory reset the phone before doing anything else. Everything seems okay for now.
