Looking to repair a broken screen manually, is there anything I need to know before I commit to it?

PIC:[see post below]

So yesterday morning my screen broke, I had left it on my desk, went to take a shower, came back and found it like this with half of my screen dead (cut nearly perfectly down the middle). Since then it has gotten worse, these splotches are appearing every couple of hours, and are slowly obscuring my view even more. The phone is still 100% functional. I opened my phone yesterday to see if the issue had to do with the actually connector, but it looks fine as well.

As for past history with my phone, It as a small dent in the top left corner, and I dropped it in a pool in March of this year, but it ended up working perfectly in less than a week, and since then I have had no issues with my S4.

So I guess what I'm asking is:

How hard is it to manually repair the screen? I'm tech savvy, and build computers, but I have no experience with phones.

Where can I get a replacement kit?

Is there any details I should remember (certain things I shouldn't touch etc.)?

If I'm unsure about disassembling my phone, should I just go to a repair shop?

Thank you in advance, you beautiful bastards. :)

I just replaced my screen on my S4 and it was cake. I went the route of buying the lcd digitizer and frame all in one. It also came with the middle chassis and rear back cover. The cost was only a few dollars more and it made it easier. I purchased mine on eBay.
