Does any one know if there is an app similair to the Lookout Mobile security app, where you can locate your lost tab or turn it on if its lost in your house through wifi?

For the tablets, I'm not sure. However there is the Plan B app from Lookout for phones. Perhaps there's something similar for tabs? The only limitation of Plan B is that it listens for a received text message with certain contents ("locate") before actually starting the location reporting.

As far as turning it on if it's off, that's probably not nearly as easy a task.

There's an app called "Seek Droid" that will provide some locator abilities. The problem with the Tab is it doesn't do SMS messages (at least the WiFi one) and many of these security apps depend on them. I have tested Seek Droid and it will work sometimes. You have to have WiFi on for it to work. For 99 cents, its worth it I guess.

I haven't used any of the locator apps mentioned, but wanted to point out that you can do SMS over wifi with google voice and groove ip. It seems to work like regular SMS on my android phone, so it's worth a try, if an app depends on SMS. You may also have to set up your google mail app, I'm not sure about that, I know I get SMS sent to my google voice number in both my mail app and also in the google voice app.
