Looks like I found an ugly bug in the HTC one W/ Sense5

I could care less as well as 99.9 % of everyone else. My daughter had the Iphone 4 -4s and not HTC ONE x .... she now gets it.

settling for mediocrity isn't uncommon, "99.9%" do it all the time, the fact of the matter is it's not SUPPOSED to do that, its an oversight and a bug, and all this thread was created for was to bring the bug attention and hopefully someone over at HTC will add a quick fix in the next update. Until then I will find something else to duel boot alongside google edition.

What you need to understand is the phone isn't the issue, and for the most part the rom isn't either. It's a simple animation that is out of place and whether or not it bothers you or doesn't is irrelevant. What is relevant is it exists and should be fixed and chances are "99.9" wouldn't even notice the fix, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed.

Hmm....not there on the 4.3 Rom I'm running, which is based on the AT&T leak.

What a petty thing to call a deal breaker anyway.

ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL YOU WATCHED THE VIDEO. smh

deal breaker as in my default rom, i was leaning towards sense 5 until I discovered it.

Can you link me to the rom you're using as I had this issue on the stock 4.3 rom?

thank you kind sir, if this works out I will be happy to duel boot with sense 5 again :D

going to take an hour or two to download, so will be back later to report back on my results.

One question though, does this leaked 4.3 version have all the updates included in HTC's official 4.3 release that came out a few days ago? Some of the additions included were camera fix, and ability to add music to your zoey videos.

Erm.....Is it not more likely it is on purpose? To draw the user's eye to any potential notifications, signal strength and battery life on phone when waking it. I'd say it's quite a long 'light up' for it to be a glitch. But hey, if it's a deal breaker for you just chuck the phone in the bin and buy an i-phone. You seem rather pro-apple/android sceptical looking at your previous posts. You've already posted about two deal breakers already. How many more broken deals will it take?

These threads make me laugh. Deal breaker?! Hahahahahahahaha

you don't understand - we are people who settle for less in stuff that really matter - such as the appearance of an opaque status bar for a fraction of a second when you unlock your phone.

calling my shrink as i type.

seems like there are an abnormal amount of fandroids out tonight, cleanROM is downloading and I'll possibly have a bug free version of sense 5 up and running shortly. I don't buy a $500 phone for buggy transitions, especially a transition that is the first thing you see!

fixed.

and glad to learn you will now experience a "bug-free" htc one :)

It does include those.

I'm trying very hard to like sense 5 but inconsistent UI transitions is hard to overlook, especially a transition you see after your lock screen.

That looks very intentional.

To draw the user's eye to any potential notifications

That's my guess on the reasoning as well, but our best bet would probably be to just ask HTC on Twitter or Google+. If it is a bug, they'd be happy to learn about it so they can fix it... but more than likely that's a design decision that was consciously made.

You realize iOS 7 has more bugs right? There has been 2 updates in the first two weeks!

even if you are in the app drawer and then go to the lock screen and back, you will notice the status bar changing its black level(pretty much over writing the current status bar). Obviously not a design decision if its doing it even to a screen where it doesn't need to change the status bar.

Go back to iOS then. One small bug is nothing to get your panties in a bunch over, deal with it by either going back or putting up with it.
