Loose Power Button

I did not think it was going to fall out, nor did I think it would stop working. To me, it just felt like bad build quality. Especially for a $750 device. I would expect a $300 phone to exhibit something like mine did.

Exactly this. I don't think the button will fall off or stop working, it just has more play in it than I'd like. I went into a Best Buy location to check their display model and there was no wobble at all.

Yeah see, hence why I made the thread. I really wanted to know if it was just supposed to be like that. Clearly it is not, and I won't accept that for the price paid. It also does not help I am mega OCD when it comes to things like this lol. I remember I had a Pixel 2 that the back glass was not flush with the body. It drove me nuts and I returned it simply for that reason. The outside of a device is as equally important to me as the inside. I mean, this is why I refuse to use cases on my phones...I do not like to hide the look of what I think is a beautiful device.

@Vega007 , any updates? What did you end up doing?

Well I am handcuffed because Samsung won't let me make a new order since I was originally doing a trade in. Since the return hasn't completed, I have an open trade in, and until it drops off I can't do it again.

Also, I won't have a shot at the $130 e-certificate anymore either so I think I will wait until it price drops before I give it a try again.

Ugh I'm sorry. This sounds annoying.

Wobbly buttons are one of my pet peeves with phones! I can't tolerate them. So does the S10 line seem to have this issue then?

Update for me. Brought the phone to TMobile and they exchanged it with no problem. New device has no rattle at all.

I returned mine for another unit, received this mornkng and it is exactly the same. Spoke to Samsung online chat and they said it shouldn't be loose which is bothering me a little. I'm worried if it will give the waterproofing any issue?

Hey all,

So I unboxed my S10e and right off the bat I noticed the power button is loose and rattles. This is something I have experienced before with Pixel phones but never a Samsung. Is this common? Is your power button a bit loose or is it just mine?

Hi, same problem. First I ordered one from bol.com but it was full price and 5 min later I saw a deal at telenet.be my internet provider for 100 euro less. I ordered from telenet, loose power button... Had the same with my s6 from telenet years ago... suspicious... ordered a second one from telenet... same loose homebutton?! Makes me think they can sell at discount because they have some kind of secret deal with samsung selling faulty devices lol. Gonna keep the bol.com one for full price.

Sorry for rant 😛

It sounds like the majority of the ones sold have a loose power button. I can't imagine it'll be a problem long term if so many units have it. I'm not going to worry about it on mine. I'm wondering if the ones that aren't loose to start, will get that way after a little use.

I watched your video and thought that it seemed like the top one had the worst amount of play, and the one at the bottom the least. All I know is, the one at the top, with the most amount of play - that is exactly how mine was. And I had bought mine directly from Samsung. It was so loose that if I just lightly shook my phone up and down you could hear the rattling.
