Losing 4G

I wonder if this can't get us out of our contract. I have my 6th nexus and wasted upgrade sitting on a shelf collecting dust. They offered me a replacement phone but why take a rezound or razr if that won't fix the service issues?

They convinced me they knew the nexus was bad and for me to call back when I knew which replacement phone I wanted. BS!!! Now I gotta call back and bring this up but I'm sure they will deny it all or I will have to go through 6 rezounds to prove its their network.

Now I'm stuck using this 4s I got from a friend who switched to sprint with no 4G I used my upgrade for.

If anyone contemplates using *228 you will indeed ruin the SIM card. 4g phones update automatically
If you are experiencing 4g issues switch to CDMA only then. If you don't want to use 3g which still works well then remove the battery and SIM cars for a few minutes. Let the device recycle. Its a mini computer. Good to do this a couple times a month

All Verizon 4G phones have been having problems for the past couple of weeks or so. I've talked to tech support numerous times and they are still clueless as to what's going on. I've also tried a new SIM and phone and neither have helped.

On a side note, dialing *228 will not fry your SIM card or in any way damage your phone. Not sure why anybody would do it since it's common knowledge that 4G devices do not use *228 for updating.

I was experiencing these data drops until I upgraded to ICS, and havent noticed one since.. Thought that was kinda odd

I didn't know that *228 didn't work on 4g phones. I've always been skeptical of it anyways but always tried it. Just a suggestion. It will not mess your sim card up though.

I know I've had two replacements and a sim card. And still nothing. Verizon told me to call the warranty center, bc they see these things a lot more. Too bad they told me they haven't heard of this problem.

According to VZW, 4G finally had reached Southern Maine sometime early this month. I saw it on my phone for one single day. Since then, it's back to 3G despite VZW tech's assurance that 4G is the most stable of 'em all.

Ok so I'm still having this issue with the data completely disappearing. Doing the data roaming was a temporary fix, I called verizon and they saying it maybe a defective device. But what about all the other. Android 4G phones having the same issue? Now is every one else calling Verizon and letting them know this is going on or are we just ranting about it on the Internet? Has anyone found a fix? Thanks in advance :thumbup:

Had this happen a couple of times here in Denver, CO the last few days. Before that, no problems for weeks. Sometimes will kick into 3G sometimes lose data completely. A reboot always fixes it, without fail, for me.

Don't start thinking you suddenly have a bad phone. VZ suddenly has a bad network.

I lost all data on my Rezound yesterday. I'm in FL. I could text and call with it and WiFi worked fine, but no 3 or 4g. I did call Verizon and they put it a trouble ticket. They also sent me a new SIM card in case that's the problem. I reactivated my Droid X while I wait for my SIM card to arrive tomorrow. No data issue on my X which is 3g. I have my fingers crossed that the SIM card is the issue with my Rezound. I don't want to have to replace the whole phone.

I already had the Sim card replaced and didn't change a thing.weird thing is that all 4 smartphones on my account are having similar issues (all 4G phones).

Still losing data since I posted this. I've just kept my phone on 3G. Even when it says 4G there is no data connection. I feel we should all be reimbursed for the month, paying for something we can't use. I went from 30gb to 4gb because my data is so fickle! I miss Pandora, hulu and netflix lol. Waiting on just one page to load on the browser or Facebook to make a connection, it's getting kinda old o.0, my husbands phone and sim have been replaced and it made no difference.

I once again lost 4G yesterday in Denver, CO. Went to 3G, then nothing. Reboot fixed it, was lost again.

I will say that I was in a location that I'm frequently in that has terrible voice connections. When I left that area, didn't have any trouble.

Still believe this is a VZ network issue, not a phone issue. So if you're reporting trouble with your phone/SIM/radios probably not the issue, but the more reports they receive the more likely they will be to address it.

Had the same problem in Georgia/Florida when I first received the phone - 4G would work for 30 minutes, then immediately start dropping every 15 seconds to no data. Battery pull/SIM card pull would work temporarily, but then start dropping again.

I installed the May 7th Rezound ICS leak and after taking 15 minutes for 4G data to return upon setting it up, I have had zero problems since. Streaming/downloading no longer gets cut off every 15 seconds.

really i am in mid Maryland near Gettysburg and my rezound dropped all data since Tuesday. I didn't get a 4g signal until this morning when i removed the sim card
