I would have to do unrevoked forever to move to the 2.15 radio right? I'm not opposed to trying that if I can't revert back it there are issues.
Send from my Droid Incredible.
ok gotcha. I have just rooted, forever, and radio 2.15. I have not seen a difference. my battery life has always sucked. Even before I rooted and everything my mobile connection would drop randomly at work.
My co worker has the same phone but has a verizon plan so he has different PRLs then me. That is why I think it is the PRLs that we are on for the Alltel plan. My PRL is 4066
Yes you have to install unRevoked forever to flash the 2.15 radio. However with that being said once you flash unRevoked forever you can swap to any radio you want at any time. Just remember once you forever your phone it will be permanently s-off unlocked. Which isn't a bad thing, I doubt Verizon is going to boot into hboot to make sure you didn't s-off the phone!
I might give 2.15 a try. As long as I do a nandriod back up I can recovery back if 2.15 doesn't work well on my phone, correct? Would the nandroid backup take me back to S-on as well?
No NANDROID backups only backup your O/S installation. Think of it as a computer. When you run backups it saves your windows installation, meanwhile the bios (radio) of the computer isn't touched.
So no nandroid will not restore s-on. However with S-on you would not be able to roll back to 2.05 if 2.15 didn't work well for you but with S-off you can since revision checking is turned off.
And with the PRL stuff, granted I'm on Verizon not Alltel, is:
PRL ID: 51920
PRL Type: IS-683C
PRL Prefer Only: Enable
Roaming Indicator: 68
Maybe this helps? Wonder if your Prefer Only being disabled has anything to do with it?
Here is my PRL info. 3 things are different from Qazme. One of which we know would be different the PRL ID since we are on Alltel.
PRL ID: 40066
PRL Type: IS-683C
PRL Prefer Only: Disable
Roaming Indicator: 0
I wonder if the last 2 have something to do with it. I wonder what other Alltel people have. I am starting to think a lot of the battery issues are coming from old alltel people that still have the Alltel plan.
