So, who here has lost RCS messaging especially if you're on Verizon And then beta 3? Hopefully Google will fix this issue soon!

I still have RCS. The only person I have ever seen it with is with my pool guy which I texted last week and notice it for the first time. I'm on project fi and everyone I talk to 90% have iPhones . Nothing I could do about that, but it did work with my pool guy and I'm on beta 3.

This morning, I was checking the Android Q beta issue tracker and two people are complaining about RCS being removed after beta 3 upgrade. I don't have the RCS feature anymore now that does my future brother-in-law with his pixel 3 on the same platform. Now surely, we can still SMS each other but when are the RCS feature anymore.

Actually I let me retract it is NOT working for me neither. I bought a pixel 3a for my wife for mother's day and added her to my project fi plan and I just tested exchanging messages and indeed it is not working.

Gotcha, thanks for the update. Well then, looks like RCS isn't working in beta .. I mean it's not a huge deal as long as SMS works then it's not the end of the world it's just a nice feature for messaging to have.

This Q beta not going smoothly like it did Pie
To be fair didn't they give us access a bit earlier this time. Last time I think it was during Google I/O? So if you compare it even though it's called beta 3 it's as if it's in the same early stages of when it was first available to test last year. So I don't know but as far as performance it's working well for me with some bugs here and there. I think I've reported like 12 bugs since the start lol.

Really? Well the only two issues that I now have is RCS, and Android Auto. Both of which aren't life and death issues, but it would be nice to have them fixed ASAP.

You might be right , dont Remember but didn't have any issues on Pie, no slow downs on Q or app crashes but small things like phone not reading my sim when you add a carrier ,wall paper when I add from zedge it super zooms it after little time applied . Small stuff but I guess I can nit pick this time that couldn't last time lol

Yeah, to be fair, most of the core features of the operating system are working fine for me. Core features meaning my most used apps are not crashing, messages and calls come in, The phone is alerting me whenever I do have a voicemail. Google apps work find an additional third party play store applications work fine. I don't have any bootloader issues so 95% of my phone is working. In all fairness from my perspective. My issues have been reported numerous times for Auto, and the RCS which other users are experiencing as well.

Again and all fairness, my battery life is freaking amazing! No memory issues. honestly, after reading The issue tracker, most of the issues others are reporting I don't have thankfully.

I suspect beta 4 will be a huge improvement.

Well then, I definitely hope you're right sir. obviously , we all of that patience to deal with beta issues since we want want and enjoy Being on the cutting edge of Google's operating system stages.

Yeah I run into the same issue with wallpapers it has to do when auto rotating the screen in an app.

I'm not on beta and my RCS is gone as well.

I did set it up on my old Pixel XL but it doesn't have a SIM only WiFi, and as far as I know it's not connected to Google accounts.

The option is still available and on but it isn't working when I message my wife who has a Pixel 3XL as well and we're both on Verizon. Earlier this year I lost the functionality but the option wasn't even available then.

Interesting, very very interesting. All I know myself, when I was on beta 2, that my RCS was working and my future brother-in-law's RCS on his Pixel 3y was working as well. I mean, like I said, it's not a huge deal at all as long as we can SMS each other it's all good but it's a nice rich communications feature to have. Especially for being able to send large files that are not compressed over the network. The maximum file size and RCS land is 105 MB, And of course, let's not forget the typing indicators. The only thing that we can hope is that Google fixes these issues soon.

Any chance it's a Verizon issue and not the Messages app? Seems the carrier holds most of the cards when it comes to RCS.

You know, I was thinking of that. But when I rent some Reddit forums end some user issues from Android Q Beta issue tracker, two other users are having some exact issue. I don't know which tire they have but still...
Probably not I'm on Google fi and I have the issue too.
Well, to be honest with you, that's slightly comforting to hear...

I also lost RCS. But it's due to the Messages app. If you revert back to 4.2 it will work again.
