Lost 3g

A few weeks ago I suddenly lost 3G, 4G, and 1X coverage. However, while on vacation I did get coverage while on roaming but as soon as we left that area I lost the coverage and it just when back to no G coverage. can anyone help? I've checked to make sure it is on in settings and it is on

Verizon USA

Go to the Verizon store and get a new Sim card. If that doesn't solve it you might need to do a factory reset.

But why would it randomly work on a roaming network but not its own?
