Maybe, you should start using a Cloud folder to back up the photos something like One Drive or Dropbox for example?

I'm currently using One drive, and as soon as I take a photo it automatically backs up to the cloud

I have a Samsung Note 3. For some reasons my phone stopped saving my photos on my sd card. I fixed that but had 164 pictures that I wanted to transfer to the sd card. I transferred them to the dcim file instead of the camera file and all the photos show up as an x. The name is still there as a jpeg, but when I click on it, it is just an x. I transfered them to the phone file and the same thing, just shows an x. Any help would be appreciated, they are from my 3 year olds birthday party.

I was trying to go through and remove some garbage folders and move all my movies pics and music to a new sd card and i happened to delete everything apparently.. This is my Situation

I was connected to my PC
I happened to delete a folder called STORAGE from my Internal Storage on my phone by accident
and now everything is Gone..
I do not have a back up ATM that I know of. I believe it went out with everything else when i deleted the folder mentioned above.

I have a Motorola Droid Razr M
Andriod Version 4.4.2
and it is never been ROOT'ed if that matters

Hey!
So for like two weeks it happened when my android just updated and the layout made me frustrated and I couldn't find it. All I did to find it was go to photos, then the toolbar(button with three lines at the top left), then device folders and all your pics should be on there in organized folders... I now love the layout.

There are some recovery apps and they do different things... Just try a few. I recovered some but not all photos. Backing up to Google and Dropbox now!

Please HELP!! I lost all of mine also...I was simply tryin g to locate a bluetooth video I tried sending to my laptop...already had phone plugged in just to charge. I saw that there was a folder called .keepsafe which I thought had been deleted years ago and DO NOT WANT anymore...so I deleted it..both bc there was 2. Now all my photos are gone from my phone, the DCIM folder in usb storage is empty...there is only a LOST folder in SD card, but these were not on the SD and it's empty anyway...there are multiples of the folders, but they are ALL EMPTY!! What do I do? There is no :E drive in my computer...

I had the same issue too.

Brought a new sd card. trying to transfer all those picture store in the phone storage as it was going to explode my phone memory very soon. Doing the "move" action just inside my samsung A7, as it takes quite some times so the phone dim the screen itself.
After done all 700++ pictures transfer into the sd card, and finally find out all the picture showed in the gallery with black out icon.
Only realize that i have done such a stupid things to my photos!! I had lost my precious photo!! OMG~~ T.T

I accidentally deleted pics once that were on my SD-card, I used easeUs recovery to recover them and didn't have any black pictures issue after recovery.

Were the pictures on an SD card or internal storage?
Which camera app?
Which picture viewer app?
