Lost all my data after screen replacement S7

Newbie here and need some help .

My galaxy S7 screen was replaced via my home insurance , everything ok there but I couldn't back the phone up prior to sending it due to being password protected and illegible screen .
Is there a way to get my pictures videos etc back . I have tried so called free software but they ALL want around £40 to buy .

I know I should have backed up via smartswitch and it wasn't even backing up to google .

Any help very much appreciated .

Unfortunately if the phone has been wiped, it's very unlikely you'll be able to recover any data off of it. Software that you see online that asks for money is sometimes able to do so, but I wouldn't expect all of my data (or even half of it) back.

Thank you , I will keep looking for some software / freeware . This is actually my sons phone and he has 100s of pictures from holidays , well he did have .

Don't waste your time looking. If the phone's been in use, many of those pictures won't be recoverable by any means because they've been overwritten. Your only hope is that you had Google backup enabled (that's the default) and the pictures are all still at Google Photos. (Have your son log in with his Google account.)
