Lost all sound from ear piece speaker on 6P

Today I lost all audio out of my ear piece speaker on my 6P. I tried rebooting to see if that would fix it but that didn't help. Then after I did a factory reset it started working again.

I updated to 7.1 when it was released to for preview... not sure if it had anything to do with this update, although the speaker did work right away after the update... I just wanted to let you all know in case anyone else has this issue.

I'm on 7.1.1 developer preview, no issues with sound/speakers or any other issues so far.

It's unfortunate that you jumped right to a Factory Reset - there are a few less drastic options (clear all app caches; wipe system cache in Recovery mode; boot into Safe mode) that might have shed some light on the root cause.
