Lost connection with Google account?

I'm hoping someone can help - please let me know if you need more information. I've had this phone for a few months - everything was working fine until this morning. I noticed that my email would not update. Then I also noticed that none of my Google Play store apps would update.
I tried a few different things - clearing the play store cache, deleting and re-adding the Google account, etc. Finally, last resort, I factory re-set the phone.

Now, even though I've added my google account in "accounts" - my phone doesn't seem to be "connecting" to this account. Meaning, I cannot see my calendar, and none of my Google play apps will update. If I open the play store, it displays my Google email address. If I click on "my apps" it shows all my previously installed/purchased apps, but it will not install or update them.

If I go to the play store online, it shows my account and my apps. If I click on one, and click on "install", choose my device, I see a message that says "(x app) will be installed on your device soon". However, the app never shows up as installing/installed on my phone.

For any app that I try to install or update through my phone, it appears to be downloading, then times out and I get an error message ("Update for xxx could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC: S-7:AEC-7 Y4YH-UOLM-5ULA2]) Every app has the same message with a different alpha-numeric code at the end.

When I look at my calendar, it just says "no events or tasks" - however, when I look at "my calendars" - my google calendar is not listed.

Notes: phone is connected to both data & wifi. Texts are coming in fine, as are phone calls. Samsung apps downloaded and installed. Another oddity - I can see my Gmail email on the phone, but it won't connect to my Comcast email.

Help??
Thank you!

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen if you turn off wi-fi and rely on mobile data only? If not, then that may narrow it down to a wi-fi issue, perhaps specifically with your router.

Try a diffrent internet connection. I had the same problem using wifi to setup my S6 edge. Using diffrent wifi seems to fix the issue.

Thank you so much for the replies. So strange - it does seem to be related to my wifi. I don't think my wifi itself is problematic (every other lpatop, pc. & gadget that is connected to it works fine). I changed the connection from my private connection, to the public (Xfifnity) connection, and that solved the problem.

What's weird is I've had the phone for several months; have always used the private connection, and have never had an issue.

But - this seems to work, so thank you very much!

Glad it works! For some reason, this seems to happen occasionally with Google services, and sometimes it helps to go into your router settings and disable IPv6.

I got a notice that I had no connection when I tried to get into the play store yesterday. All else was fine so I knew it had to be on googles end. I went to settings-apps-sut down Google play store. Went back to the app, opened it, and she started right up. This isnt the first time this has happened with a Google app.
