Lost everything on my SD card

Something happened and almost all of the stuff on my SD card just disappeared. I went to My BackupPro to restore, but it didn't backup my card. The problem with Appbrain is that as soon as something is removed from your phone it removes it from your list on their site. So I couldn't do a restore from there. I am having to go through and finding all the apps I moved to SD and reinstalling them. I lost some photos because My Backup Pro didn't back them up and mIQ saves the photos but doesn't have a restore to phone option.

What are you doing to backup your SD card? I never thought I would lose data on it. I need the ability to restore as it was before the glitch. Is there a program out there that does that? DInc with froyo (have had no problems before this).

I copy all my data from my sdcard every few weeks to my laptop just to be safe.

Your SD card may be failing. Unless something starts deleting files, the data shouldn't just disappear unless the card itself is malfunctioning.

I had an SDCard die, too. Since then I created a new AppBrain list (called "App Backup" or something). Then every once in a while I clean out all of the apps in the list, then copy everthing from my Phone list to the "App Backup" list. This way you have a separate list of your apps.

I also copy from my SDCard to my computer every once in a while, especially if I have taken a bunch of pictures or videos lately.

I have wondered if it would be easier to use DropBox to do auto pic and vid backups, but I have not really tried it out yet.

Same thing happened to me... :'( It's really weird because it didn't delete everything but it did most of my pics, most of my videos and most of my wallpapers but everything else is there... unfortunately I didn't have none of that backed up... I think it has something to do with froyo... never have I seen anything like this and its weird that it's happened to a few of us after the upgrade....

For some reason I wasn't getting notices that I was getting replies even though I asked for them. Yeah, not everything on the card was gone--just photos, vids, and apps that I had moved to the card. Luckily I had copied the pictures and vids to my computer before the glitch. My SD card is new so it shouldn't be failing unless I got a lemon.

How does copy the SD card and having to restore it effect apps that were moved to the card? Doesn't part of the app stay on the phone and part of it on the card?

I wish there were an easy way of having a list of all the apps I've installed on AppBrain that didn't automatically remove the app when it disappeared (by me or glitch). Sometimes I've deleted an app and then decided I wanted it again but couldn't remember the name.

You could set your appbrain on your phone to only update manually to keep it from syncing to your appbrain account. Learned this the hard way when i did a reset then had to remember what i've downloaded since april!

I have recently learned that you can save different lists on Appbrain. So, I saved my list that I currently have as "backup" and then went back to my "apps on phone" list. That way I can have a list of the apps. That will solve part of the problem. No one has answered if there is a backup program that will automatically backup all of the SD card on a constant basis. My Backup Pro that I use doesn't do it.
