love francos kernel

Is everyone keeping up with the nightlies? I'm running the newest (#121 I think) and was wondering what your thoughts are on whether to download the 384mhz GPU or the 512mhz GPU.

He seems to imply at times that he doesn't like the 384mhz as a minimum, but I like using it to try to get as much battery life as possible. The performance I'm getting is great just going off everyday use and I've finally hit 3400 on quadrant. Just wondering what the perceived downsides are to using such a low clock speed.

Love the kernel and it keeps getting better, just trying to keep my lack of knowledge from hindering my performance.

I've seen multiple reports of 512 doing weird things to the graphics. I downloaded 384 from the get go and have had no issues. Running Liquid v1.25. I've been as high as 3600 in Quadrant.

So 384 is the way to go? Bloody gpu complicates things lol

I had numerous complications with 512 GPU. If you don't game on the Nexus, then 512 should be fine.

Can someone explain what the difference between 512 and 384 exactly is? Is it the minimum the GPU runs on, or what? I'm confused...

I presume it's just the constant level it runs at. Not necessarily a minimum.

Could be wrong though...

I've been running 512 on the GPU with no issues.

Really makes Angry Birds fly...pun intended :)

You mean if you don't game, 384 should be fine?

No sir. I was on 512, and my graphics were too glitchy. For example, I would play Temple Run, and the graphics were going crazy. Not sure how to explain my incident, but games were not playable whatsoever. 384 is easier on graphics.

Also, anyone have the perfect (nothings perfect) undervolting settings for franco r138? I am not too familiar with undervolting.

Well my understanding is 512 is for gaming, meaning you are overclocking the GPU. GraphicsPU i assume? I have always used the 384. As far as undervoltage, I don't mess much with those setting either. I get anywhere from 8-12hrs on LTE in a day. Usually with Auto screen and I get more with it at 25%. With wifi at home, screen in auto I have seen 20+ hours with 2.5 hours of screen time like a few others I've read. Wifi and screen being dim make a HUGE difference!

Yes it is overclocking the GPU, but it doesn't necessarily mean your phone might handle it. I'm not the only one with this problem. Many users at XDA are having this issue as well when running 512. If you are really curious on what happens, give it a try. Doesn't happen to all devices though. Trust me on this :)

512 runs like a charm on my baby. So far battery has been like M2! :D

Kanged out Google phone +
Franco's Magic :)

I'm too scared to try 512. I need my phone for too much, and that's like playing w/ fire :(.

I ran 512 for awhile because I didn't do my research and I thought 384 was underclocked for some reason. I never had a problem, but I switched to 384 because I dont' run many games and wanted the little bit of better battery life.

The weather is great out here in sunny Southern California! Simply amazing. Haha :P

Buttttt, r139 hasn't been playing nice with me. Horrible battery life so far. I can't seem to find a solution either..

Edit: r140 is out. Go get it guys!
