Love your ChromeCast???

To hypo: I agree with most of what you said, but don't think it's all that negative. It does seem that Google's approach to anything is let the masses be the beta testers and then improve the product or kill it based off reactions (Positive example would be Gmail. Neg: Wave or Q). I think this is something that has big potential, but agree that they need to have an SDK out so other apps can come out for Chromecast like Pandora, Pocket Casts, and better Chrome mirroring. I got the 3 months free of Netflix so I just started using it again and I think part of the problem is that the Netflix app just isn't that good especially compared to their iPad app.

I've had it for a week now (got it from BestBuy.com w/3mo Netflix) and love CC. I love that if the TV is on, I can just cast something to it and the TV will change to it's HDMI input and play. It's also helpful that the volume is loud so I decrease the Chromecast volume and able to control volume on my phone. We have been using it every day for Google Music & YouTube videos.

I love my CC. I have been using it every night for netflix streaming. I look forward to more apps and possible uses for it.

Yeah I definitely get what they are doing, and for services they provide for free I think the whole buggy/beta is totally fair. Once they start charging money though I personally hold them to the same standard as anyone else charging money. I can see the forest through the trees, but this release was just rushed and sloppy in my opinion. If you are on the fence, I'd save your $35 until they fix some of the problems. Unless of course you don't have a Smart TV or device that can already stream Netflix/Youtube or you are dying for the chance to stream music to your stereo (but note a lot of people like me are having problems with CC direct to receivers so have to use ARC back).

The Chromecast is definitely fulfilling my expectations for it, which is to stream kids videos from an iPad or Nexus7 that my two-year old toddler can choose on her own via the touchscreen interface.

Now Barney, on the other hand, is letting me down... his Pajama parties are, well, different from what I remember as a kid...
