To hypo: I agree with most of what you said, but don't think it's all that negative. It does seem that Google's approach to anything is let the masses be the beta testers and then improve the product or kill it based off reactions (Positive example would be Gmail. Neg: Wave or Q). I think this is something that has big potential, but agree that they need to have an SDK out so other apps can come out for Chromecast like Pandora, Pocket Casts, and better Chrome mirroring. I got the 3 months free of Netflix so I just started using it again and I think part of the problem is that the Netflix app just isn't that good especially compared to their iPad app.
I've had it for a week now (got it from BestBuy.com w/3mo Netflix) and love CC. I love that if the TV is on, I can just cast something to it and the TV will change to it's HDMI input and play. It's also helpful that the volume is loud so I decrease the Chromecast volume and able to control volume on my phone. We have been using it every day for Google Music & YouTube videos.
