Low on space error has reappeared...

So just today I had the low space error that many of us droid incredible users suffered from right before we got the gingerbread update. My update fixed the problem until today.

I have 280 of 450 mb free which is no fuller and actually less full than my phone has been in the past. No removal of apps seems to get rid of it like it did before and all the apps I have on my phone that can be on my sd card are pushed there.

Any thoughts? Anyone else having the same issue?

I have had the same issue happen to me for about a month now. Usually after I get a text with a video or picture in it. Then I erase it and the error disappears. I guess I need to clear some space.

Ah that did it! Thanks, I forgot how much space those can take up.

Another thing to do that works for me is the following:

Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All

Find Facebook and select it.

Then click "Clear Data", click "OK" on the warning message, then re-log into facebook.

Same problem with my phone. I've cleared space before, moving my apps to the SD crad, clearing up to 45+ MB out of 190 MB. I didn't install any more apps, but the space keeps going down to 20+ MB. I only have 9 apps, and it's really irritating. I can't move my other apps since they rely on the phone, and if I move them they sometimes won't work right. I moved Facebook and Twitter to the SD card too. Can anyone help me?

There is no permanent solution besides wiping and putting on a custom rom. It was a design error by htc. All you can do is wipe data from apps when it happens if you can't remove any others.
My wife has about 3000 contacts with her business and we've had to deal with this for 2 years now. Our solution will be to get a incredible 4g if they ever release it.

Shep is correct, Go into Settings -> Applications and select all. Find your email, messaging, facebook apps and start with clearing the cache for each. Clear cache and data for FB and email. (you will have to re-log in and may reset your server settings for email.) and if that does not clear it up delete your SMS/MMS messages.

Last resort is a full wipe and reset.

Hope this helps.

Yep I have the same thing going on as the original poster... actually I'm getting low memory warnings now on both the internal memory and the SD card. I deleted a video I shot w/my phone but I'm still getting the full SD card message.

Time to do some deep cleaning I suppose because clearing data cache's several times a day is getting old quick. Been sending a lot of texts with pics lately so might start there.

I have also found that clearing the data from Web browsing can be helpful as I had to clear my cash and history there the other day when I was surfing and the low space popped up. But otherwise clearing out my text messages seems to be the best way to keep it away. Esp since my wife got an Iphone and her pics she sends are huge! To clarify she is not huge the size of the files are huge lol :-P Haven't gotten the sd card full yet though.

Basically, start clearing cache and data for anything that has a feed (Facebook, email, etc). Supposedly the e-mail client that comes with the Dinc has memory management issues, and some apps aren't so good at it. I had sporadically gotten these low on space errors since day 1, and lately it's gotten bad enough that I just wiped the phone and re-installed the ROM every time it's happened. The second time this happened, it went away when I cleared data for the nytimes app (the first time, I had no clue what I was doing and took it to a Verizon store, where they factory reset it for me, since that seems to be all they know to do with an Android phone that's having issues...).

Going through and culling apps you never use is another good exercise. My experience is that every time I flash a new ROM, roughly 1/3 of my apps from the last ROM never seem to make it back on.

I was having the same issue. I was talking to verizon tech support and brought up the backup assistant application on my desktop.

I was looking at the phone's file system, when I discovered that my podcast app had downloaded 8 gig of mp3 files into its own folder, that wasn't showing up in the phone's storage display. When I deleted those files, my storage magically came back.

Now I have to find a new podcast player (or just look at the documentation of mine)

Hope this helps
