Low Signal Quality After 10 Update

My Carrier Services app from Google was updated last night from the Play Store. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with interface with towers and LTE signal? I restarted my Pixel 3 XL and now it seems my signal at home is more stable again and not jumping from 1 bar to 4 than back down to even zero bars at times. This could have just been temporary, so not declaring anything fixed until I try it when I get home tonight. Can't really tell at work because there is a Verizon transmitter on a street light pole only about a hundred feet away from my office window, so always 5 bars and a dBm level in the -60s here all the time.

Still poor signal after this update

Count me in as one of those, "I thought it was just me."

Used to always see "full bar" all white signal strength indicators most of the day - WiFi and LTE (AT&T) - Now one or the other, or both, will be reading less than 100% a few times a day. At its worst, I can't load a web page on LTE. Happened yesterday and I reboot my phone thinking that would be some sort of magic trick. Didn't help.

Here's hoping for some kind of fix in October.

I'm on a road trip from Colorado Springs currently in the San Diego area and I'm surprised and unhappy about the poor coverage on Google Fi, having zero bars and dropping to 3g in Albuquerque, Phoenix and San Diego. I currently have zero bars and even though it says LTE I have no service. I have no idea if this is part of the update or not, my sons Pixel 3xl on Verizon has been the go to phone when my service disappears.

Well thanks Google! After the October update, my Verizon service is even worse than it was before! What a great software team!

It's definitely not Google - my carrier signal is pretty good on the October patch (and was good on the September update). I'm getting -100dbm, which is not bad considering that I'm in a pretty poor location at the moment.

Well Rukbat, you were correct. Had Verizon send me a new sim. Seems to have fixed the issue. Getting best signal at home I've ever had.

My mobile signal has been strong enough that I haven't noticed a functionality problem. It does show lower than usual.

My WiFi connection has been periodically problematic. It wasn't before.

The clearly identifiable change is that both the mobile and WiFi indicators used to be full (white) most of the time. Now, one or the other or both are not, almost all the time. I almost never saw a blank space in my mobile indicator until now.

What is the signal strength app that you guys are using?

Seems like they have changed the scale on what each signal bar represents. It used to go to 1 bar when signal reached -110dBm. Now it goes to one bar at -105dBm. I never get full bars now unless I am right next to a Verizon tower.

I use Signal Check Pro as it was only something like a dollar more. Their Signal Check Lite gives you plenty of information for free.

In areas I frequent where I never had poor cellular reception prior to 10, I am not having issues with dropped calls or very weak signal causing people I am talking with to not be able to hear me

I was sitting in my driveway and couldn't figure out why I couldn't open my banking app. Got to looking and had an X for signal strength. WTH!

Don't know if this is related but my phone is basically trash after 10 update. I'm continually dropping wifi, Bluetooth, and cell signal. Here's a list of things that have happened and makes me believe it is a software issue with 10

Phone replaced by Verizon
Restored phone updated software still issues
Reset phone installed no apps still doing it
Booted in safe mode and problem still occurred

Just curious if anyone else is having the same issues

Signal definitely seems off for me since 10 update ... Weaker or no signal in areas that were not an issue prior to 10. Also been having Bluetooth issues with certain devices. WiFi seems to be the same for me post 10, no issues there.

I've had general, what I'd call instability, in all of my wireless radios since the 10 update. Without getting up and moving, when I have poor performance, I can toggle airplane mode on, then off again about 10 seconds later, and performance is restored.... for a while. The issue effects mobile, WiFi, and Bluetooth connections. Bluetooth gets so bad that I can't even connect to my car anymore. The mobile issue becomes apparent when my call quality gets bad (gaps in call audio, long connect times to dial, notifications for voice mail from calls that never rang, etc). The WiFi problem becomes apparent when Duo keeps switching between WiFi and mobile (it pops a toast to let you know when it happens). I haven't determined yet if it's a gradual decline or a sudden drop, but it's definitely dependent on how long since the last time you rebooted or toggled all the radios off and on. I was hoping that the December update would fix it, but nope. Still a problem
