LS670ZVJ Update Coming 4/4

You guys sure as heck aren't gonna be getting any zvj roms until the man can get his hands on that update. (I'm on cm9 so I don't have it, sorry)

Has any one gone into sprint for the update? I know myself like alot of others are rocking stock zvd just waiting for that ota push. It amazes me that it has taken 2 days just to get a member to say they installed it. Keeping my fingers crossed I will be next. I am sooooo sick of stock froyo it is pathetic lol.

Can I take that to mean you've successfully installed the OTA?

No I haven't. I have just reverted to stock VD so far. No OTA update is even showing up. I just planned on downloading the update.zip and not installing it and grabbing it with Root Explorer. Is there anything specific I should be doing to get the OTA update to kick in?

Using wifi might expedite.

First thing I did was enable wifi. If anyone has anymore suggestions I'll be sitting here for a while.

I have even unrooted and am back to complete stock vd with stock recovery. Only shows me the visual voicemail update and nothing else. Dunno what I can do. I take it if I update it via the LG Updater I can't get a hold of the update.zip?

No, you won't be able to get it via the updater with out trying some really risky stuff that may not even work and leave you with a brick. I would just wait it out if you could. Make sure you are rooted though and ready. I would leave the stock recovery in case you accidentally install the update. If you are not rooted and get the notification of download, you will have to root in order to access /cache. My fear is, if you root and reboot, you may lose the update zip in /cache. That's why I say stay rooted with stock recovery and wait it out if you can.

Did you try to update the phone via system settings/about phone?

Yeah I have tried it all. Reading the discussion on in the sprint community... seems as though It just hasn't rolled out for me. No big deal really. I have already re rooted and have stock recovery still. The thing that worries me is one of the mods is saying it could up to 21 days before its rolled out to everyone. I assume I couldn't change my PRL or anything and force it to roll out for me either?

I intended my suggestion, in part, as a joke. Strange how all but one have nothing. This release comes in much more skeptical trickle than the former.

Yeah I should have taken the time to read reports. I saw a few people were getting it so I assumed it was finally getting around. Oh well this is why nandroid backups are such a great thing.

So I was just reading through the discussion over in the sprint forums about this update and one of the admins stated that even phones that are not in service WILL be able to upgrade over wifi. I did not realize that.

Leaving mine on hooked up to wifi now.
