i
need
the
update
Go here for instructions.I got the ZVJ/Gingerbread update this afternoon. I had been on ZVH/HydroROM; this morning I reverted back to stock un-rooted ZVD to test some other issues and then the update showed up this afternoon.
I went ahead and installed itbecause I'm like a kid at Christmasin the name of science. Now, what can I do to help the rest of you get your hands on it? I haven't tried to root yet...just waiting for someone who knows more than I do to give me some advice.
Thanks
No dice so far, but I know this exploit doesn't always hit so I'm still trying.
Maybe a dumb question: if I can't get ZVJ rooted using this method, can I use the stock recovery to flash back to ZVD, root, and see if the update file is still there?
Yep, guess that's what I shoulda done. I am currently trying the one-click root process to see if it works.

i just chect with the lg update tool, and the update is there, installing update now
You gotta be on a stock based ROM
Take a look at this root method that Jerry suggested. When following the instructions, only look at the actual root method as everything else referenced there is for the optimus v.
