LS670ZVJ Update Coming 4/4

Downgrading my old Opt S to ZVD now and will try to get OTA.

*EDIT* Darn it - no radio, phone number, MIN, ESN, MEID - all gone. Flashed it twice like it said to.
Was able to root and put Wi-Fi back in service.

Any advice out there to get the radio back up so I can check for OTA?

You need to flash once, boot into android, boot to recovery to flash the second time. Just did the same this morning.

Status Update: Trying to get it to recognize that update is available. Think I'm good once I get there.

Trying by PRL, Profile and/or Firmware but all show Client Error on this phone. Might be because it's no longer active?

If your phone isn't active, I doubt it would receive a message about the OTA update.

Got an alert an update was available, clicked on it, went to this page

Sprint - LG Optimus S? MR

don't see anything downloading????

switched to wifi to speed up download.
guess the download will be coming later.
going to try to choose 'later' and see if I can find the update file on the phone and copy it.
(not that i would know what to do if i did LOL)

Keep in mind that one of the rules of having a rooted phone is "never accept an OTA update." They may have fixed what was wrong with ZVH and Gingerbread but they may also have fixed the flaw that allowed us to root it. I would rather have a rooted phone with a custom ROM and wait for the devs to break the security and root it than take my chances on an unknown Sprint update.

Couldn't you just revert back to vd, by installing the VD update, if the VJ one sucks?

A software update will soon be available for your LG Optimus S device. Over the next few weeks, the software will automatically be downloaded to your device. Once the download completes, you will receive a notification on your device that the software is ready to install.

so does any one have any information about what this update is going to fix... cuz i have a custom recovery and hydro rom so is it worth going all the way back to the beginning or should i wait till people figure out how to root zvj...

I hope we will see some stock tweaked type roms soon after release. Hopefully things wont be too difficult for our chefs/devs.

And hope you can root the new update!
